Update my kitchen and would like oiled bronze handles and without the replacement cost. Can I paint or refinish exsiting the money to get the look too? What materials / products / colors before?

No, you can not. The bronze material is from a different material than the material is now made of nickel. If you want news, you can buy anything until you have enough, then you replace them all at once. Hope this helps.
Long answer short, ammonia thorough cleaning (detergents seem to work best), sand and imperfections. Find a way to be, (the screws put into the material and brings them to the styrofoam works well).
